Never Enough Time

There is never enough time it seems.  I love to sit and get paper crafty but that is usually something I want to do and not something I have to do.  Before I know it the day is gone and all of the have to do items are, if I am lucky, done and any of the want to do items sit neglected.

So, when a friend asked if I could make her some cards for her staff, as a way to wish them Merry Christmas as well as a 'Thank You for all of your hard work,' when she stuffs them full with a gift card :)  I was maybe a bit pressured but also a bit thankful as it gave me a 'have to do' for my 'want to do' list!  Not sure if they are super elaborate or super great, but I had fun and she liked them so all is well.

Hopefully they look okay as I took the pics in my 'play' room with my phone camera.

Variations on a Theme

So this should seem a bit familiar :)  It is a variation of the card featured in my December 4th post.  I used the Memory Box die Grand Merry Christmas again.  However, this time I used Taylored Expressions Nativity Border and Build a Scene Rolling Hills.

I cut the Nativity Border into three pieces so that I could layer it in the accordion folds, made a 1" intervals.

Enjoy!

Thanks so much for stopping by again :)

2014 WCMD Winners Blog Hop

And, the winners are...

And now, drum roll please!?  The big moment we have all (well, at least I know I have) been waiting for - Let's go to the hop, blog hop that is!  It is time for the 2014 World Card Making Day winners blog hop.

I cannot wait to see all of the other winners' fabulous cards!!  Be sure to check out all of the wonderful winners - check them all out, links are below!

I still cannot believe that I am one of the winners of the Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking WCMD contest - eeks!!  I don't think I could speak for quite some time after receiving the email letting me know that my card was one of the chosen in the Season's Greetings category.  Such a
great surprise and wow, did the sponsors go crazy with the prize package too!!

Here is my card:

I used Memory Box dies:  Merry Christmas, Deer Trio, Cottage in the Woods and Frostyville Border.  Also, without your 3D glasses (sorry, never got them sent out :), it is hard to tell, but I used an accordion fold at 1" intervals to layer the Merry Christmas, Deer Trio and Cottage in the Woods die cuts.

Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking

It's true, all good things must come to an end.  However, it doesn't mean that we have to like it.  The word is that Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking magazine will be shutting its doors and ceasing publication after its February 2015 edition  The February 2015 digital issue will be the last, with no further special issues produced

So, for one, that means that those of us chosen as WCMD winners will not have our works published.  (Stay tuned tomorrow - there will be a blog hop for all of the chosen winners and their cards in all of the categories!)

Secondly, it is just sad!  I had a chance to check out some of the posts for the special blog hop related to this (Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine Special Thanks Blog Hop).  There are literally hundreds of them, hundreds of wonderful stories of the great impact PC&S has had on so may people - bringing them together doing what they are all so passionate about!

Farewell to a friend I was just getting to know....
